So Yummy - Ristorante La Piola
I'm a little late posting this but I realized that these guys don't have a website - our friends Deb and Scott Taylor's son started working at "Ristorante La Piola" so we joined them there for dinner - all I can say is WOW! Everything was absolutely delicious - we had all the special's which included Dean's salad that he had created. If you haven't been there (or like me, haven't heard of it before this) make sure you check it out - it's just beside the Italian Bakery on Quadra Street in Victoria - 3189 Quadra Street - phone # is 250.388.4517 - YUMMY!

Arbonne Rocks for personal development
Did you enjoy those sunny days of July - I certainly did! We had some holiday days away at the beginning of the month and it gave me a great opportunity to listen to the Arbonne "Learn and Burns". First off, I LOVE that name - don't you? Basically what happens is I go onto the Arbonne website (and you can too if you joined with a membership of $35), and there are 100's of learning resources available to me that I can download and either listen to on my iPod or burn to a CD to listen to in my car.
If you don't already know much about me and who I am, my original business 24 Carrot Learning promotes personal growth and professional development. Someone told me at the beginning of this that Arbonne was a personal development company disguished as a skincare company and I thought...we'll see, I already have a PD company. After one month I have a story to tell you.
While I was in Bellingham as part of our holidays, I was telling someone about Arbonne and the positive experience that I have had with the company - she mentioned that she didn't think that she could do something like this because she didn't like to 'sell' or 'put herself out there'. What I have learned about Arbonne is that it is such a great company for not only professional development as it relates to the products we share with our friends and family (and their friends and family) but it is huge for personal development as well. In fact, I said "it would be worth it for someone to pay the $35 per year consultant fee so that they could just take part in the personal development offered through the Learn & Burns and the Arbonne University. Some of the workshops and teleconferences I have listened to lately include "Managing Momentum" and "Stumbling Blocks and How to Overcome Them" I'll talk about what I've learned in these newsletters and make some reading recommendations for you but honestly, the $35 membership give you at 35% discount on products but the PD is worth even more than that!

Launching The Power of Connection (formerly The Carolyne Connection)
Here it is - mother's day (well it was when I wrote this to begin with) - and I am so inpsired I couldn't sleep any more - I wanted to get up and finish this note that I started last night.
Thanks Mom for your love of information gathering that you passed on to me and thanks to everyone that is receiving this today - you are all amazing women - either someone's mother or mentor and the daughter of someone who helped you to become who you are today. We have so many gifts to share with each other - we are fortunate indeed!
So - once an idea gets in motion it just keeps moving ...early in March I started to think about what I do best and one of things I do is connect people - so I came up with three words that I felt described what I do in my business and in my life overall - those three words are: Connect, Create and Communicate.
Then, on Thursday night, as a group interacted at the BC HRMA mingle some of them realized they had met before at various things that I had organized . . . walking around Elk Lake a couple of years ago, and then another at the Run for the Cure - and many of them have connected at one of my Soul in a Bowl parties. There was laughter and then Heather said "It's the Carolyne connection."
And I loved it! And a day later I've registered the domain name and created a place that I can put all the great things that people tell me about, I experience or I read about somewhere.
My intention is for this to be Victoria and southern Vancouver Island based and to include health & wellness topics and events - things that don't necessarily fit in my 24 Carrot Learning or Roaring Women newsletter.
I don't know how often I'll send this out but I'd love to spread the word about it - if you would forward it to your friends I'd be honoured if they would like to receive it too click here to subscribe
